4th of July

We ususally celebrate the 4th in Delta.  But Rhett had to work a night shift on the 3rd, so we were home in Idaho this year.  We ended up having a great day, and Rhett was post call so after he slept a few hours it was kind of like a day off.

RHett bought RJ a fighting fish at Wal-mart.  He loves it and it's his first pet.

My dad and uncle were in town for the weekend, even though I didn't take any pictures of them, and so we went swimming at their hotel.

RJ loves jumping in from the side.

Here's Ellie in her red white and blue outfit at our little BBQ.
After dinner, my dad and uncle left, and we roasted marshmallows on our new rock patio we just finished.

Ellie has the funniest face in this one.

RJ, like all little boys loves fire and smores.

It was a fun evening, the street behind us was a block party with a live band, so we could hear and enjoy the music from our yard.

Rhett bought RJ a little $10 firework kit, which RJ LOVED.

I was glad to have a camera where I could manually set the exposure to have a really long shutter speed, I think this one of Rhett's name was 5 seconds.

RJ loved sparklers of course.

Our front yard is a perfect view of the fairgrounds down the street where they set off the city's grand show.

Hope everyone had a fun 4th of July!

I think July 4th is one of the very best holidays. Love your firework pictures.
